I am a small hobby breeder of Burmese and Asian cats based on the Northants/Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire border, England (15 minutes from the M1) and I've been breeding since 1995 and I am a member of the Asian Group Breed Advisory Council.

If you are looking for a friendly, outgoing people orientated cat then Burmese and Asians are for you. They are happy go lucky cats who integrate well and like nothing better than being with their family. Which should you choose, an Asian or a Burmese? Asians are now indistinguishable from Burmese in all respects other than colour and pattern and if you don't find a Burmese kitten that you like, then an Asian will more than fill that gap or vice versa. There is no real difference in the temperament of the two, although I think personally that the Asians are a little more laid back and quieter to live with, in fact a lot of people now make Asians their first breed of choice when looking for a cat of Burmese type.
